Stock Items (PLU/SKU)
Stock / Inventory items
To create stock codes, from the docking menu you can choose the "MORE" icon. Under the UTILITIES menu option you will find managing stock items and departments.
Stock Departments
Before you can start loading or importing all your stock items you need to create departments. Do not make things to difficult for yourself, keep it simple. Typical departments are:

Hardware
New Machines
Software
Used Machines
CCTV
STATIONARY
Cameras
Paper
Cables
Ribbon/Cartridges
SOFTWARE
SERVICE

You can create your MAJOR departments with their sub set of minor departments. Departments are used to group the stock codes that you create. These groups are later used in your stock searches as well as on some reports.
Manage Stock
Odyssey allows you to create each of these stock items and link them to various departments. These stock items must have a stock code, stock description and at least the cost price and one selling price.
Each item you create can have the following properties:
Taxable item, indicates whether this items is taxable or not.
Fractions allowed - Item with weight or metric diameters can have fractions, but since items like Coke 340ml or Computer CPU can not be fractional, you can block users with this setting.
Enter new description - During the quotation process you can allow the user to change or add to the item description. When not checked it blocks the user from changing the description.
Catalogue Item - Odyssey allows you to flag item that must appear on the PDf catalogue. Main items must be catalogue items, but not parts associated with that item.
Serial Item - During the order process, odyssey allows the user to enter serial numbers for the relevant items.
Non gross profit item - item you create like service or labour can be flagged as non profit as you do not really know the exact profit you make on these items.
On promotion - Your specials, items flagged will be highlighted during the quote process so that the users can see what is on special.
Company - if you only have one company set up in the CRM you would not use this feature. For people with multiple companies they can link stock items to those branches.
Pack Size - During the order process, the pack size is indicated.
Pack Description - During the order process the system indicate the relevant pack description.
